East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership have been on a journey to redesign services so that the voices of those we support are at the heart of what we do. We have a strengths based approach, which prioritises walking beside people so that together we can deliver better outcomes. We are looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Social Worker with a passion for achieving excellence to strengthen and support the delivery of service. The post is in the Transitions Service with the focus on supporting young people with complex needs transitioning to adult services. The role involves working across children’s and adult services. You will work creatively and innovatively to assess, plan and coordinate supports for young people to engage in a range of post school opportunities and to offer support to their caring network during this transition.

It is essential that you are a qualified, registered social worker with a recognised Social Work Diploma or Degree.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.

If you are not currently registered with SSSC you will commence employment as a Social Work Assistant (Grade 7 - £28,523 to £30,731) until full registration is obtained.

The successful candidate will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Please note – all applicants will be asked to provide proof of their right to work in the UK, and any offer of employment will be conditional upon verifying documentary evidence before employment commences. Further information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work

Please note East Renfrewshire Council does not provide Visa sponsorship.

As an employer, we are committed to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of all our employees.
